Nikki Hunt grew up at First Christian. She has attended the church since she was a young child and has been a part of the Children’s Ministry staff since June 1998. Nikki graduated from ETSU with a BA in Psychology and Spanish and from Emmanuel School of Religion with a Master of Divinity with a Christian Education concentration. Her ministry passions include leading the 5th Grade Parent and Child Mission Trip and teaching the 5th graders on Wednesday night. She loves traveling, watching movies, going to art museums, and trying new foods. She has recently rediscovered the joy of reading. Her top 10 favorite things include (not exactly in any order): Cadbury mini eggs, sushi, lip balm, art by Van Gogh, Edith Wharton novels, funky clothes, mission trips, pizza, beadwork, and her awesome buddies. Nikki loves a good organization system, a planner, and a great desk! Beginning in January 2010, Nikki will begin a slow transition into her new duties as the Outreach Minister.

Mavryn has been the Director of KidsTime Worship at First Christian Church for 3.5 years. Mavryn graduated from Manhattan Christian College with a BS in Family Ministry in 2005. She and her husband, Bryce Cooper, then moved here to attend Emmanuel School of Religion. Both are pursuing Masters in Divinity degrees. Mavryn is originally from Greenwood, IN. She enjoys scrapbooking, movies, playing with her dog TJ, Sudoku, and if she had to describe the perfect date it would be “April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.”

Heather resides in Johnson City, TN with her husband David and their 6 amazing children Ashlie, Kaitlyn, Sierra, Myranda, Andrew and Branden. With a combined 12yrs experience as a lead teacher at the Bristol Family YMCA Montessori Preschool and as a Children's Minster at Central Holston Christian Church. As the Director of Preschool ministry at FCC It is a great joy to see a child discover Jesus loves them for the first time. There is no greater opportunity then working with parents and children to encourage and support their spiritual walk and to help them begin to grow and cultivate a heritage deeply rooted in Christ.

Judy began attending First Christian church at the age of four and became a member in the l960’s. She has worked in the children’s ministry of the church since 1974. Judy is married to Bill and they have two beautiful daughters named Sallie and Tia. Judy enjoys swimming, working word puzzles, traveling and entertaining. She has been with the Weekday Preschool for 27 years. She enjoys working in the preschool and enjoys interacting with the many children that are and have been enrolled there.

Jennifer Schmidt has been on staff at First Christian since Sept. 2001. Jennifer was born and raised in Catlin, Illinois. A graduate of Milligan college ('81) in Elizabethton TN. Jennifer earned her bachelor's degree in music. While in college, she met her husband, Mike. Jennifer and Mike have two children, Lucas, who is a freshman at Milligan College, and Emilee, a graduate of Johnson Bible College. Jennifer has a passion for bringing Christ's message to children through music and drama. Jennifer has enjoyed being a piano teacher for the past twenty five years.
