Information Director

Your context.

Because of that, we do a lot of different things in different ways. We need a full-time Information Director to make sure it’s all communicated to the right people in the right ways at the right time. Your role will be hugely important in the future effectiveness of our ministries. We need someone who is a professional at getting the word out and Organized with a capital O. 

Your role.

  • Oversee the upkeep and input of information into our Shelby Arena Database.
  • Maintain and develop systems for accurate input and use of data such as events, groups, and individual profiles. 
  • Manage the linking of information between our database and website.
  • Manage the website functionality and organization.
  • Create new web pages and populate accurate information. 
  • Ensure our website is accurate and working correctly, ready to jump in and get things fixed whenever necessary.
  • Work with web developers to troubleshoot any issues that arise on our website or database.
  • Coordinate and delegate various communications strategies.
  • Work in step with the communications team to determine appropriate strategies for the promotion of church activity.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships by facilitating ordering and fulfillment of printing, and other outsourced products and services.
  • Comfortable creating and editing written copy in a professional, yet conversational voice with precise grammar.

  • Equip, train, and support pastoral teams in the use of the database.

Executive Assistant

Our staff team works creatively to minister to people in all life stages, going to great lengths to make God’s love known to them. Our Executive Assistant is someone who’s ready to sweat the details so others don’t have to, enabling staff to pour themselves into their specific ministries. This position is critical to keeping things organized and running smoothly behind the scenes. The ideal candidate is friendly and intuitive. Someone who lets nothing fall through the cracks and accommodates changes with ease. They’re flexible and able to look ahead to anticipate the needs of others, but also have situational awareness to step into the needs of the moment.

This position is for a true professional in administrative tasks, verbal and written communication, and leading an administrative team to support the ministries of the church.  This role works closely with our Senior and Executive Ministers, facilitating details and ensuring they are set up to be as effective as possible. This position is vital to FCC’s ministry and ultimately our ability to care for the congregation.

Your Tasks.

Support the Senior & Executive Ministers, including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate schedules including meeting scheduling
  • Assist with verbal and written correspondence
  • Make travel arrangements and prepare itineraries
  • Order resources and reconcile credit card transactions
  • Take minutes at All Staff Meetings and as needed
  • Update regular and annual documents including Elders roster and employee handbook with information provided from Executive Minister
  • Generate monthly attendance and new member update for Elders agendas
  • Provide event support for meetings and activities including Senior or Executive Ministers

Manage the Office, including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate, equip, and encourage administrative staff
  • Manage Microsoft Teams
  • Submit IT requests
  • Assist with staff fun efforts
  • Staff onboarding updates and training
  • Provide training on office machines
  • Ensure office is supplied and tidy

Your Work With Others.

We’re a dedicated staff team and are all partners in what’s happening at FCC, so we work in unison and always have each other’s back. Your role within the team looks like this:

  • Provide administrative support for staff teams
  • Maintain regular communication with Staff Leadership Team to stay aware of support needs across the staff teams
  • Partner with other Operations team members for effective ministry across the Operations Team, including Business and Facility Team members
  • Train staff for Microsoft Teams integration

Preferred Qualifications (special consideration given to candidates with these skills)

  • Previous experience as an administrative assistant for at least two years
  • Proven experience handling sensitive information with great care and trustworthiness
  • Confident communicating via phone
  • Relishes a challenge
  • Has a passion for administration and loves supporting the ministries of others

Welcome Associate

Your context.

That can take many different shapes across our ministries, but the FCC Welcome Team is on the front lines of living it out as a first impression. The Welcome Associate position helps us keep hospitality front and center on Sundays and gives administrative support to the welcome team throughout the week.

Your role.

Your primary focus will be to care for and intentionally build up a growing team of disciples to be leaders in Sunday hospitality and first impressions at FCC. 

  • Ensure all hospitality tools are on hand and prepped each week, from signage to snacks, or anything in between that helps provide high-level hospitality and consistently welcoming experiences
  • Apprentice individuals to execute a high level of hospitality
  • Invite new team members into mission while investing in their personal and spiritual growth
  • Meet weekly with the Welcome Team
  • Take responsibility for some aspects of large church or staff events.
  • Participate in FCC All-Staff meetings, training, events, etc.

Your work with others.

Nobody flies solo here. We’re a dedicated staff team and are all partners in what’s happening at FCC, so we work in unison and always have each other’s back. Your part of the equation looks like this:

  • Serve with other staff members on Welcome Team to achieve the big-picture purposes of the ministry
  • Work within the Welcome Team to create and execute strategies for consistently high-level hospitality.
  • Partner with other Welcome Associates or volunteer team members to efficiently complete all administrative tasks related to the Welcome Team. Such tasks may include but are not limited to, coordinating with the Communications Team for signage, making notes in the church database (Arena), and performing follow-up with guests or new members.

  • Previous experience volunteering or serving on a church staff in the areas of hospitality, greeting, or welcome

High School Ministry Resident

Your context.

High School Students are a core piece of the community at FCC, and we work hard to get them ready for action. We need a High School Ministry Resident to make sure we’re serving parents and mobilizing high school (9th-12th grade) students for mission. Your role will work with the larger Family Team to develop teaching content, organize trips and events, and assemble resources that send students out as missionaries. The High School Ministry Resident also resources leaders and parents with discipleship tools, counseling resources, and through advocacy.

Your Role.

  • The High School Ministry Resident partners with the Student Minister to provide pastoral care (presence, counseling, counseling referrals, resources) for students and families that are navigating adolescence and facing crisis moments.
  • The High School Ministry Resident partners with parents as they disciple their high school student(s). The High School Minister does this by advocating for parents, connecting parents to resources, and creating opportunities for high school students to be mobilized for mission.
  • The High School Ministry Resident partners with the student minister to equip, train, and minister to the High School Ministry leader team by providing vision, content, leadership resources and practical support.

Your Work with Others.

  • The High School Ministry Resident partners with the larger Family Ministry team to develop and coordinate relevant and strategic events that move the larger mission of FCC’s Family Ministry forward.
  • The High School Ministry Resident is responsible for administrative tasks including, but not limited to: meeting participation, timely email and phone communication, and collaboration with the Family Ministry admin.

FCC Students Communication Assistant

Students are a huge piece of the culture and community at FCC, and we need an FCC Students Communication Assistant to support the FCC Students team in their efforts to affirm middle school students on their personal journeys and mobilize high school students for mission. We need someone who is passionate about students and their families, effective at getting information in front of them, and confident in leveraging the relevant platforms to do so.

The FCC Students Communication Assistant works with the larger FCC Students team to develop and communicate calendars, curate our social media presence, update website presence, send email communications and any other relevant communication approach that will allow us to communicate with students and families effectively.

Your Role.

  • Partners with the larger FCC Students team to develop and execute pastoral care strategies.
  • Actively updates the FCC database to schedule communications, create event registrations, and monitor FCC Students metrics.
  • Works in step with the FCC Students team for long-range planning and communication strategies.

  • The FCC Students Communication Assistant is responsible for administrative tasks including, but not limited to: meeting participation, timely email and phone communication, social media management, and collaboration with the Family Ministry admin.
